“From our very first inhalation that signals entrance into the world to our very last exhalation through which we bid the world a final farewell, breath is with us our entire life.”

Soma- as it applies to the study of Somatics, the modern definition of soma was established by Thomas Hanna in 1972 as the human being perceived from within from the viewpoint of their own proprioceptive senses (i.e. first-person perception).

Somatics Help You:

*Deepen understanding of how difficult life experiences, especially those from early childhood, contribute to held patterns of tension in the body (i.e. stuck, stagnant energy—> tight muscles, chronic headaches, upset stomach, etc.)

*Expand body awareness and access internal sources of wisdom that guide your healing process

*Move through your healing journey at a pace that feels comfortable and maintains self-agency (this is your journey and you decide how far you want to go and when).

At the center of the soma — as at the center of a galaxy — there is both nothing and everything.

— Thomas Hanna
